Milton Dwane Carr
Milton Dwane Carr, 53, of Roanoke Rapids, died Monday, November 10, 2008, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
Dwane was born June 22, 1955, the son of James Milton "Porkchop" Carr of Weldon and the late Dorothy Medlin Carr. He was employed at KapStone Paper & Packaging Corp. in B-Mill as a back tender and was a member of the Troublefield Hunting Club. Dwane was a former Weldon city police officer and a former long-time Roanoke Rapids midget football coach.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Dwane Carr of Midlothian, VA; his sister, Peggy C. Johnson and her husband, Jay, of Garner; his brother, David Carr and his wife, Tina, of Halifax; his niece, Dory Johnson of Garner; and two nephews, Ryan Carr of Roanoke Rapids and Derrick Carr and his wife, Jensey, of Thomasville, NC.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids with Minister Randy Martin officiating. Inurnment will follow in the columbarium at Crestview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the church fellowship hall.
